Experiential Training to Internalize Integrity Awareness
and Promote a Culture of Ethical Practice Among All Employees
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pilhyung) conducted a "Integrity Culture Education" session for all employees on the afternoon of April 24 in the multipurpose auditorium at the district office.
This training was organized with the aim of strengthening awareness and capacity for integrity within the organization.
The program consisted of: ▲ an integrity pledge ceremony involving all employees, ▲ a performance of the integrity-themed play "Gapjil Breaker," and ▲ a special lecture by an expert on integrity. The district avoided a formalistic approach, instead preparing a variety of programs to help employees naturally understand and empathize with the meaning of integrity.
The event began with the integrity pledge ceremony. Employees recited a resolution to practice integrity together and held up integrity slogans, reaffirming their commitment to responsibility as public servants and to a culture of mutual respect within the organization.
Next, the play "Gapjil Breaker," performed on stage, vividly depicted cases of power abuse and conflicts of interest that can occur in the public sector, delivering the importance of integrity in an engaging manner. By moving beyond a simple lecture format, the program increased employee immersion and empathy.
In the final segment, the special lecture on integrity was delivered by Shin Minseop, a professional integrity education instructor. The lecturer used various media content, such as news and dramas, to clearly explain the key points of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, receiving a positive response from the employees.
Lee Pilhyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "This was a meaningful opportunity to enhance employees' awareness of integrity through various forms of education," and added, "We will continue to strive to create a transparent Dongdaemun-gu that is trusted by both residents and staff."
The district is actively promoting various integrity initiatives to foster an honest organizational culture, including the "Integrity, Let's Play!" event, the operation of an Integrity Supporters group, and an integrity contest with employee participation.
