According to the legal community on April 24, Lee Seongbok, the presiding judge of the Civil Division 2 at the Seoul Central District Court, has scheduled the first hearing in a lawsuit seeking 10 million won in compensation for emotional distress against former President Yoon. The hearing, filed by the "Preparatory Group for Compensation Claims for Yoon Sukyeol's Acts of Rebellion," will take place at 3:10 p.m. on the 16th of next month.

Previously, this group filed the lawsuit on December 10 of last year, claiming that they suffered emotional damages due to former President Yoon's declaration of martial law, and seeking 100,000 won per person as compensation. The lawsuit was initiated at the suggestion of attorney Lee Geumgyu, who represented the National Assembly during the impeachment trial of former President Park Geunhye, and attorney Kim Jeongho, who represented victims in civil and criminal lawsuits related to the Chun Doohwan memoir. The group of plaintiffs recruited by these two attorneys reportedly numbers 105 people.

On this day, the court decided to serve the notice of the first hearing to former President Yoon by public announcement. As a result, the service of the hearing notice will be deemed effective from the 2nd of next month.
