At the "Gwangju-Jeonnam Joint Recruitment Fair" held at Chonnam National University on the 24th, more than 2,000 local university students and job-seeking youth gathered. The booths of public enterprises relocated to Innovation City, major conglomerates, and public institutions were lined with young people seeking consultations, while mock interviews and special lectures on successful employment, designed to enhance real-world skills, were crowded with job seekers.
On this day, Gwangju City and South Jeolla Province jointly hosted the "2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Talent Joint Recruitment Fair" at the Convention Hall of Chonnam National University’s Gwangju Campus.
The fair was organized to provide local youth with employment opportunities at public institutions and to promote the recruitment of regional talent. A total of 33 public institutions and private companies participated, including 13 public institutions relocated to Innovation City such as Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Power Exchange, and Korea Internet & Security Agency; 9 public institutions under Gwangju and South Jeolla such as Gwangju Transportation Corporation and Jeonnam Research Institute; as well as Gwangju Bank, Amkor Technology Korea, Alps Korea, Kia Motors, and Kumho Tire.
The number of students and young job seekers who attended the recruitment fair reached over 2,000, and at some public institutions and company booths, the number of consultations exceeded 100, filling the venue with job seekers.
At the recruitment consultation booths of public institutions and private companies, one-on-one consultations were held between recruiters and job seekers, covering topics such as recruitment plans, recruitment procedures, and preferential treatment for regional talent recruitment.
The fair began with a special lecture on the National Competency Standards (NCS), and provided practical information such as recruitment details from major public institutions and presentations of successful employment cases by previous job seekers, sharing their real-life strategies for success. The program was designed to motivate young people in their job search.
In addition, various programs were offered to help with employment preparation, including mock interviews to enhance practical skills and confidence, vocational competency assessments, career counseling, and simple physical fitness tests through the National Fitness 100 program.
One young job seeker who attended the recruitment fair said, "I felt lost because I didn't have accurate information on how to prepare for employment at public institutions in Innovation City, but the consultations at today's event were very helpful. My dream is to study hard, successfully get a job at my desired public institution, and build a happy family in this region."
A high school student shared, "It was my first time experiencing a mock interview, and it was structured just like a real interview, so I felt nervous and tense. The feedback I received from the interviewer after the mock interview was extremely useful, and I think it will be very helpful in preparing for actual job interviews."
Lee Byungcheol, Director of Planning and Coordination, stated, "I hope this fair has provided young people with practical employment opportunities and served as a foundation for them to grow stably in the region. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with public institutions and related organizations in Gwangju and South Jeolla to actively support talented individuals in achieving their dreams and settling in the region."
