SH Corporation Completes International Standard Verification for Greenhouse Gas Emission Data

Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) has obtained verification that its voluntarily calculated greenhouse gas emissions and emission source data comply with the international standard ISO14064.

On April 24, SH Corporation announced that on April 23, it received a statement of reasonable assurance regarding greenhouse gas emissions and emission sources in accordance with the international standard ISO14064 from the Korea Standards Association, a verification body designated by the Ministry of Environment.

ISO14064 is an international standard for the accurate and independent verification of greenhouse gas emissions at the organizational level, and is regarded as a key indicator that ensures the reliability and fairness of emission data.

SH Corporation calculated direct emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions (Scope 2) from 31 locations, including its headquarters building and the Integrated Housing Security Center, as well as from company vehicles, to build a greenhouse gas inventory. The company received a "reasonable" assurance opinion in accordance with ISO14064. This means that SH Corporation's greenhouse gas emission data has been calculated fairly and transparently in accordance with international standards.

SH Corporation also plans to undergo ISO14064 verification in the second half of this year for other indirect emissions (Scope 3), including those generated by employee commuting, product purchases, and the sale and lease of assets.
