Lei Jun, CEO of Chinese company Xiaomi, offered a special gift to visitors at the Xiaomi booth during the Shanghai Motor Show.

On April 24, multiple Chinese media outlets including Jimu News reported that "at 'Auto Shanghai 2025' (hereafter referred to as the Shanghai Motor Show), which opened the previous day, Xiaomi is giving away Xiaomi baseball caps worth 129 yuan (approximately 25,000 won) to the first 5,000 visitors to the Xiaomi booth."

The previous day, Xiaomi's official social networking service (SNS) posted, "The baseball caps are limited to 5,000 per day. Today's stock has already run out." Lei Jun also wrote, "Thank you to everyone who visited the Xiaomi booth. If you received a gift on-site, please post it in the comments." Visitors to the event shared photos as proof and commented, "It was so popular that it was hard to get," and "I went early but still couldn't get one."

Jimu News explained, "The Xiaomi baseball cap distributed for free was previously sold for 129 yuan on Xiaomi's official online store," adding, "It was sold together with a tumbler and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra."

However, Lei Jun himself did not appear at the Shanghai Motor Show. On this day, the reason for Lei Jun's absence from the Shanghai Motor Show became a trending keyword on the Chinese search engine Baidu. Wang Hua, Xiaomi's public relations officer, told China Net that "he wanted to attend, but was unable to due to a scheduling conflict."
