On April 24, during the 2025 first-quarter earnings conference call, Hyundai Motor stated, "We will establish and actively implement a contingency plan to optimize production capacity (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX) based not simply on cost reduction, but on investment prioritization and efficiency."
The company added, "We will optimize production and sales by base and vehicle type, which is our greatest strength in terms of profitability." The company continued, "We will reduce costs by improving production efficiency at both the existing Alabama plant and the newly operational HMGMA. In the mid- to long-term, we will also pursue a localization strategy in the United States that includes parts sourcing and logistics."
