On April 24, Goyang Special City announced that the 17th Goyang International Flower Exhibition will be held at Ilsan Lake Park for 17 days from April 25 to May 11, under the theme "Flowers, Imagination, and Fragrance."
This year's exhibition will feature participation from over 200 organizations and groups from 25 countries. The exhibition area has been expanded from 240,000 square meters last year to 280,000 square meters. More than 100 million flowers are expected to be showcased throughout the venue.
On this day, Goyang Special City held a press day at the Goyang Flower Exhibition Hall in Ilsan Lake Park, announcing the start of the festival to the media and related officials.

At the event, Chairman Lee Donghwan stated, "Since its inception in 1997, the Goyang International Flower Exhibition has become a valuable asset for Goyang City, offering citizens culture, leisure, and vitality," and added, "I am delighted to introduce this festival to members of the press on this exciting spring day."
Over 100 people, including Lee Donghwan, Chairman of the Goyang International Flower Exhibition Foundation, the director of the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center, other officials, and journalists attended the press day, where they were given a preview of the main contents and venue of the exhibition.
Participants toured the main indoor exhibition hall as well as major outdoor venues, including the "Dreaming Garden" and the "Colorful Tinyping Garden," conducting their own coverage freely.
The outdoor exhibition area consists of more than 20 gardens, including 9 main gardens, organized under a trilogy of themes: "Culture Delivered Through the Fragrance of Flowers," "Imaginative Gardens Interacting with Flowers," and "Expansion Toward a Sustainable World." In the theme plaza "Dreaming Garden," a golden panda sculpture measuring 10 meters in both height and width has been installed as the main photo zone.
At Hanul Plaza, special themed spaces have been created, such as the "Colorful Tinyping Garden" for children and the "Flower Light, Water Light, and Sunset Light Garden" along the Metasequoia-lined avenue. Other attractions include the "Goyang Citizen Garden Show" with participation from local citizen gardeners, the fairy tale-themed "Garden of Flowers and Fantasy," and the wedding-themed photo zone "Everyday Imagination Garden."
The indoor exhibition hall is composed of the Floral Industry Hall and the Floral Exchange Hall, featuring unique plants such as Indonesian carnivorous plants, Colombian rainbow roses, and glowing roses, as well as over 100 new varieties from around the world. In particular, a vertical garden approximately 20 meters high and the rainforest-inspired "Breathing Indoor Garden" are expected to draw significant attention from visitors.
In addition, a variety of side events will offer plenty of entertainment for families, including the "Goyang Flower Market" with participation from local flower growers, water bicycle experiences, the "Catch! Tinyping Greeting Parade" for Children's Day, and a trot music performance for Parents' Day.
