Hands-on Event with Children at Busan Bank Headquarters on the Morning of May 17
Various Events Including Children's Art Competition, Play on Busan Cultural Performance, and Book Exchange Fair
BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) will host the 'I LOVE (Ai Sarang) Festival' for families in celebration of Family Month on May 17, 2025, at its headquarters in Munhyeon-dong, Busan.
The 'I LOVE (Ai Sarang) Festival' will feature a variety of hands-on events for children and their families, including the 4th Busan Bank Children's Art Competition, the Play on Busan cultural performance 'Gag Concert', the 22nd Book Exchange Fair, and the Children's Market Town.
The 4th Children's Art Competition aims to raise awareness among children about the importance of local culture and will be held under three themes: AI, Environment, and the New Airport on Gadeokdo. The competition is divided into two categories: lower grades (1st to 3rd grade) and upper grades (4th to 6th grade). Awards will be given to 300 participants, with the top prize and the Dongbaek Art Award in each category receiving the 'Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent's Award' and the 'Busan Mayor's Award', respectively.
The Play on Busan cultural performance will feature Hwang Hae (Oh Minwoo, Jang Hyunwoo) from the KBS Gag Concert team, Sotongwang Maljahalmae (Jung Beomgyun, Kim Younghee), Geumjjokiyuchiwon (Hong Hyeonho, Lee Sugyeong), and Magic & Kim Jaerong (Kim Jaewook), who will bring laughter to participating children and their families.
The Book Exchange Fair, now in its 22nd year, is a civic event promoting a culture of reading. Over 1,000 quality books, including those selected as the '2025 One Book One Busan Book of the Year', will be available. Participants can exchange books they have read for books read by others, and three books they have read can be exchanged for one new book. Each participant may exchange up to 10 books at the event.
The Children's Market Town allows families with children to participate directly by selling reusable household items such as clothing, bags, and daily necessities, thereby promoting resource circulation, reuse, and the value of sustainable sharing.
In addition, organizations such as ChildFund Korea, which will operate an upcycling keyring-making booth, the Busan Community Chest of Korea, Save the Children, Busan Volunteer Center, Doctors Without Borders, 119 Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and Busan Nambu Police Station will participate, offering a variety of hands-on programs.
Applications for participation open at 5:00 p.m. on April 24, 2025, through the 'I LOVE Festival' website (bnkilovefestival.com). Families wishing to participate in the 'Children's Art Competition', 'Play on Busan Cultural Performance', or 'Children's Market Town' must register in advance on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bang Seongbin, President of Busan Bank, stated, "We hope this event will provide children with joy, creativity, and an appreciation of the importance of family during Family Month," adding, "We will continue to work with the local community to create a better environment for raising children."
Proceeds from the Children's Market Town and donations collected by participating organizations will be used by ChildFund Korea to support underprivileged families with newborns.
