Han Donghoon: "Will Work With Everyone After Primary Victory... Share Same Views as Han Deoksoo"

Han Donghoon, former leader and presidential hopeful of the People Power Party, stated on April 24, "After achieving an overwhelming victory in the primary, I will work together with everyone to secure victory in the main election," leaving open the possibility of unifying candidacies if Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deoksoo decides to run.

In a post on Facebook that day, Han Donghoon declared, "I am running to protect the future of the Republic of Korea, and I will surely win."

He continued, "For me, the victory of the people takes precedence over protecting vested interests," and emphasized, "I have already pledged to shorten my term by three years if elected, and I will devote myself wholeheartedly to achieving victory."

Regarding Acting President Han, whose potential candidacy and draft movement are gaining momentum, Han Donghoon said, "In particular, Acting President Han and I worked closely together to resolve the unprecedented martial law situation while minimizing conflict," adding, "We share the exact same determination to protect and help the future of the Republic of Korea flourish."

This is interpreted as his intention to focus on winning the party's primary first and being nominated as the presidential candidate, while also leaving open the possibility of unification if Acting President Han enters the presidential race later.

He also stressed, "Now, I will focus on the fierce primary within our party."
