This seminar was held for domestic export companies that are considering relocating their overseas production sites amid signs of a prolonged tariff war initiated by Trump and growing uncertainty in the global supply chain. Deloitte experts active in the US and Europe, along with Deloitte Anjin's tax and risk specialists, presented specific strategies to respond to the changing international investment environment.


In the US session, Douglas Tyler, leader of the Deloitte Global Credits & Incentives team, introduced changes in the US tax environment and key incentive policies, and explained the latest trends regarding the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the CHIPS Act, and the Congressional Review Act (CRA). This was followed by an analysis from Joseph Sungyeon Cho, Deloitte US Partner, who explained the impact of changes in the US tax environment on Korean companies.


In the EU session, Yoonsu Shim, Director at Deloitte Anjin, introduced the overall structure of EU regulations and compliance, emphasizing the need to prepare compliance responses at the operational level through proactive analysis of global regulations. Kylie Gregg, Deloitte UK Partner, explained policy changes related to the EU CHIPS Act and sustainability, as well as major updates to the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. In addition, she provided practical advice on institutional changes aimed at ensuring fair competition and protecting strategic industries, which the EU is currently strengthening.


Shinho Lee, Partner at the Deloitte Anjin International Tax Group, presented prospects for tax reform under the US Trump administration, which has recently become a major issue, as well as tax issues and response strategies to consider when investing in the US and EU regions.
