Daejeon Begins Tram Construction on Doan-daero... Central Bus-Only Lanes Restricted from April 25

Daejeon City announced that, starting from April 25, it will begin tram construction on the Doan-daero section in Yuseong-gu, and as a result, the central bus-only lanes in this section will be restricted and bus stops will be relocated.

This construction covers Section 7, which stretches from the Sangdae Underpass to the main gate intersection of Chungnam National University. The city plans to gradually restrict the central bus-only lanes on Doan-daero until the end of May, utilizing the two central lanes to build the tram tracks.

The existing bus stops located on the central lanes of Doan-daero will cease operation from April 25, and the tram construction will continue until August 2027.

The relocation and integration of existing bus stops will also take place: the Yuseong Oncheon Station Exit 3 stop and the Doan Central City stop will be moved nearby, while the Yuseong Oncheon Station Exit 2 stop and the Humansia 4 Complex stop will be integrated with the stops on the opposite side.

Banners, notices, and signs have been installed near each bus stop, and the city is continuously informing the public of these changes through the city website, social media, the bus information system, and electronic displays.

Following the Yuseong-gu section, the city plans to begin construction in phases on the entire Line 2 tram route, including Jung-gu (Section 10) and Dong-gu (Section 13).

Choi Jongsoo, Director of Urban Railway Construction at Daejeon City, stated, "We are making every effort to complete the construction by the end of 2028 in order to enhance our status as a city centered on public transportation," and asked for citizens' understanding and cooperation regarding any transportation inconveniences.
