JoongAng Group Announces Open Bidding for Joint Olympic and World Cup Broadcasting Rights

Previously, JoongAng Group secured the exclusive domestic broadcasting rights for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games from 2026 to 2032, as well as the FIFA World Cup tournaments scheduled for 2026 and 2030. The events are planned to be broadcast through JTBC and JTBC-affiliated sports channels. In addition, through this open bidding process, the group aims to collaborate with TV broadcasters and new media operators for joint broadcasting, so that the public can access these major sporting events through a wider range of platforms.

Bids will be accepted from April 25 until May 19. Any platform operator capable of smoothly broadcasting the Olympic Games and the World Cup may participate, with no specific eligibility restrictions. A JoongAng Group representative stated, "We plan to seek cooperation with various operators under the goal of diversifying broadcasting platforms for the Olympic Games and the World Cup and expanding the value of sports content."
