The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is launching support initiatives to help tourism-vulnerable groups?such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and families with young children?enjoy easy and convenient travel experiences in Gyeonggi Province.
On April 24, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it will implement the "Barrier-Free Tourism Infrastructure Expansion Support Project" for private tourism businesses in the province, and is accepting applications from participating companies until May 16. The total amount of support funding is 100 million won.
The main areas of support include: ▲development and operation of barrier-free tourism products and programs; ▲content development such as promotional marketing; and ▲mobility convenience equipment such as wheelchairs, strollers, and ramps.
Eligible applicants are private tourism businesses operating tourist attractions, travel agencies, accommodations, or user facilities within the province. The specific support amounts are: up to 10 million won for content development and operation, and up to 3 million won for equipment purchases. It is possible to apply for both content development and equipment purchase categories. Each company can receive up to 10 million won in total support.
A representative of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "This project is intended to help everyone, including tourism-vulnerable groups, travel throughout Gyeonggi Province without inconvenience. We look forward to active participation from local businesses interested in barrier-free tourism," adding, "The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will continue to strive for travel without discrimination and for experiences that everyone can enjoy."
