Mr. A is accused of killing five family members?his parents in their 80s, his wife in her 50s, and two daughters in their teens and twenties?at his apartment home in Suji District, Yongin City, on the night of the 14th. He is reported to have committed the crime after making them fall asleep by giving them sleeping pills.

After the crime, Mr. A left a note stating his intention to "kill everyone and then kill myself," and fled in a passenger car to an officetel in Gwangju City, where he was staying for business purposes, in the early morning of the 15th. He was apprehended by police later that morning.
