...The Only Locality in South Chungcheong Province
On April 24, Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it was the only locality in the province to be selected for the "2025 Youth Village Creation Project," a public contest organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This national support project aims to help young people settle in local areas and to boost regional vitality. Buyeo County's social enterprise, Hyean Co., Ltd., will receive a total of 600 million won in funding by 2027 to establish "Buyeo, Youth Village Running in the Sky" in Guyam-myeon.
The county plans to build a tourism and startup ecosystem by combining Buyeo's natural environment, which is suitable for free hot air balloon flights, with Baekje cultural heritage and local entrepreneurship. The project will encourage young people to settle in the area through hot air balloon flight training, local living experiences, and the operation of startup and creative spaces.
The county expects that youth-led events such as hot air balloon experience festivals will revitalize the local economy and attract more residents. In addition, it plans to establish a youth fund worth 20 billion won in the future.
