Daewoong Pharmaceutical is fostering "talented individuals who excel at work" through a growth-oriented internship program, aiming to create a "great place to work" where the company and its employees grow together.

On April 24, Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced that it had conducted an onboarding program for its 2025 first-half recruitment-linked internship over a three-week period starting from March 17.

In the current job market, companies increasingly prefer experienced hires, making it ever more difficult for entry-level job seekers to find opportunities to learn and grow. Against this backdrop, Daewoong Pharmaceutical is gaining attention for offering opportunities to "growth-oriented" rather than "fully-formed" talent. After hiring a total of about 130 new interns in February, the company conducted this onboarding program for the new interns.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical avoids recruitment based solely on credentials, instead focusing on the potential for growth as the core criterion, in line with its talent values of "learning, communication, collaboration, and execution." This onboarding program was not just a simple introduction but an extension of the recruitment process, serving as an opportunity to assess the interns' growth potential and organizational fit in practice.

The company placed the primary focus of the internship training not on technical job skills, but on "attitude toward work." Unlike most corporate training programs that concentrate on knowledge transfer, Daewoong Pharmaceutical's talent development philosophy begins with "the mindset with which one works," rather than "what and how something is done." To reflect this, key executives such as Kim Namhee, Head of HR Planning, and Lee Seungha, Head of Production, personally delivered lectures.

The program continued with training on job skills directly connected to real work. The curriculum covered not only the basics?such as report writing, email communication, and telephone etiquette, which are fundamental yet difficult to learn systematically?but also provided a comprehensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry, including explanations of affiliates and major products, enabling interns to understand industry trends.

The program's key goal was not only to strengthen practical skills but also to develop the competencies needed to work effectively with others. At the start of the training, interns took the "Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior (FIRO-B)" assessment, giving them time to reflect on how they behave within an organization and what types of relationships they expect. Based on this self-understanding, interns participated in various team-building assignments, experiencing the entire process of communication, collaboration, and problem-solving as if in real situations.

In particular, the group project went beyond a simple assignment to serve as hands-on training. Interns planned and produced content projects themed around Daewoong Pharmaceutical's core values of "growth, autonomy, and achievement," naturally setting goals and dividing roles. They completed deliverables through a process of coordinating each other's opinions.

Kim, Head of HR Planning, stated, "The core of Daewoong Pharmaceutical's HR policy is not simply to find people who are already good, but to nurture those who can grow together with us," adding, "We will continue to advance our HR system so that young people taking their first steps into society can understand the essence of work, internalize the value of collaboration, and grow."
