Renewal of Four ISO Certifications
for Hoyadong and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants
The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters announced that Hoyadong and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants recently renewed their integrated post-certification audits for tap water production with the Korea Certification Registrar (KCR), an international certification body for ISO. The renewed certifications include ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), and ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System).
ISO certification is a system in which an accredited certification body verifies that an organization or company produces, maintains, and manages its products in accordance with international standards and relevant regulations, certifying each field separately.
Hoyadong and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants first obtained certification for the Environmental Management System, followed by certifications for Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and Food Safety Management Systems.
Notably, since 2001, they have continuously passed annual post-certification audits, earning external recognition for the excellence of Ulsan's tap water.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "With the renewal of ISO certifications in four areas, we will further strengthen the management of all processes involved in tap water production to supply the best tap water, Goraesoo, to our citizens."
