Expansion of Public Amenities Such as Parks and Parking Lots
A residential complex with approximately 3,000 housing units will be built in the area of 700 and 755 Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, where old buildings are densely concentrated.
On April 23, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it had held the 6th Urban Planning Committee meeting and approved, with modifications, the maintenance plan decision and landscape review (proposal) for the housing redevelopment maintenance area covering 700 and 755 Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu.
The area of 700 and 755 Eungam-dong is located within a general neighborhood-type urban regeneration revitalization zone designated in 2019. The site has been identified as problematic due to the rapid aging of buildings, steep slopes, and narrow roads that make it difficult for vehicles to enter in case of emergency.
Through this redevelopment maintenance project, around 3,000 housing units are planned to be constructed in the area. Public amenities such as a public parking lot, parks, and welfare facilities for residents are also expected to be provided. In addition, the city plans to revitalize the Daerim Market alley commercial district near the site as part of the urban regeneration project.
A city official stated, "We expect to gain momentum in improving the residential environment by linking public urban regeneration projects with private redevelopment projects."
