Mungyeong City in North Gyeongsang Province will launch a new festival pass (15,000 won) for visitors at the Mungyeong Chasabal Festival, which has been selected as an Honorary Culture and Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, starting from May 3, 2025.

The festival pass for the Mungyeong Chasabal Festival was introduced as a new program after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2023, offering cost-effective benefits such as the Chasabal-making experience, tea ceremony experience, discounts at various tourist attractions, and complimentary teacups. These benefits received an enthusiastic response from visitors.

However, over time, there were concerns that the pass was limited to simple experiences and discounts, and there was criticism regarding insufficient connection between the festival venue and the local commercial district. As a result, the festival pass has been revamped for this year.

The revamped festival pass newly includes an outdoor escape mission and a pottery workshop tour, both of which can be enjoyed throughout the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set, the main festival venue. The outdoor escape mission is themed "A Time Travel to the Past to Combat the Plague," where participants visit key points of the festival venue to solve missions and quizzes.

The pottery workshop tour allows participants to visit designated workshops in each area, as indicated on the map on the back of the pass, and collect stamps. Upon completing the missions according to their choices, participants can receive a teacup as a prize.

Another feature of this year's pass is that it comes with a 1,000-won Mungyeong Love Gift Certificate. Upon purchasing the pass, visitors will receive a gift certificate that can be used throughout Mungyeong City, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. The pass also continues to include the existing pottery-making experience ticket, tea ceremony experience ticket, and discounts at tourist attractions such as Eco World, Adventure Park, and the Rail Bike.

A festival official stated, "We designed the new pass to reflect the current festival trend, which emphasizes experience and role assignment," and added, "We hope that many people, including families and couples of all ages, will show interest in this pass, which allows everyone to participate and explore the festival together."

Meanwhile, the 2025 Mungyeong Chasabal Festival pass can be purchased in advance through the Mungyeong Chasabal Festival website and the Mungyeong Tourism Corporation. During the festival period, on-site purchase will also be available at the ticket booth at the entrance to the festival venue.
