BISTEP Holds Kickoff Meeting for 'Busan Science and Technology Issue Discovery Insight Group'

21 Experts in AI and Digital, Bio and Health, Manufacturing and Mobility, and Ocean and Energy Participate

The Busan Institute for Advanced Science and Technology Education (BISTEP, President Kim Youngbu) will hold a kickoff meeting for the 'Busan Science and Technology Issue Discovery Insight Group' at 11:00 a.m. on April 24 at the Busan City Hotel.

BISTEP is launching the Insight Group this year to identify science and technology policy tasks aimed at securing new growth engines for Busan.

The Insight Group consists of four divisions: AI·Digital, Bio·Health, Manufacturing·Mobility, and Ocean·Energy. Together with experts from both inside and outside the region, the group will identify key issues in each field that Busan needs to prepare for and address over the medium and long term.

This meeting, held prior to the official operation of the Insight Group, will introduce the overall plan to the 21 division committee members. The event will begin with opening remarks by BISTEP President Kim Youngbu, followed by a presentation on the Insight Group's overview and operational plans, the introduction of committee members, and the awarding of appointment certificates. Hwang Junwoo, Director of the Research and Development Division at the Busan Metropolitan City Future Technology Strategy Bureau, will also attend to discuss the direction of the Issue Discovery Committee's operations.

BISTEP President Kim Youngbu stated, "Starting with this Insight Group kickoff meeting, BISTEP will make active efforts to continuously identify science and technology issues in Busan, and to drive scientific and technological innovation and secure future growth engines for the city."
