Acting President and Prime Minister Han Ducksoo met with Kurt Campbell, Chairman of the Asia Group and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, as well as a delegation of representatives from the American academic community and former officials, at the Government Seoul Office on the afternoon of the 23rd. According to the Prime Minister's Office, they exchanged views on the Korea-U.S. alliance, as well as regional and global affairs.


Han acknowledged that the attendees have made significant contributions to the development of the Korea-U.S. alliance in their respective fields. He requested that they continue to play a role in further strengthening the alliance, particularly through active think tanks.


He also asked for academic support to help find mutually beneficial solutions in upcoming Korea-U.S. discussions on tariffs and other economic cooperation matters.


The delegation stated, "The Korea-U.S. alliance has greatly contributed to the development of both countries," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that the alliance can deepen further and bring about mutually beneficial prosperity."


They continued, "Through cooperation in key areas such as shipbuilding, energy, and advanced technology, the Korea-U.S. alliance is on the verge of reaching a new level," and expressed their hope that the alliance will make an even greater contribution to peace and development in the region in the future."
