Honored as Trade Person of the Year
Park Youngtae, President of the Korea Trade Association and Dean of the College of Economics and Business Administration at Dongui University, held the 50th Anniversary International Academic Conference and the Trade Person of the Year Awards Ceremony on April 18 at the main conference room on the 51st floor of the Seoul Trade Tower.

The academic conference, held under the theme "The Direction and Challenges of Smart K-Trade in the Global AI Era: Analyzing Changes in the International Trade Environment and Seeking Future Strategies," featured paper presentations and discussions, a commemorative ceremony for the publication of the 50-year history of the Korea Trade Association, the 2025 Trade Person of the Year Awards Ceremony, and a joint declaration by the presidents of the Korea and Japan Trade Associations regarding the Trump 2.0 administration in relation to the global tariff war.
For the 2025 Trade Person of the Year Awards, POSCO International was selected in the corporate category, and Kim Yongkyu, CEO of Namseong Shipping, received the award in the individual category.
The Korea Trade Association, established in 1974 to promote academic advancement, policy proposals, and cooperation among industry, government, and academia, is now a leading association in the field of trade studies with approximately 6,000 members. It publishes the SSCI-level international journal 'Journal of Korea Trade' eight times a year and the KCI-listed academic journal 'Journal of Korea Trade Studies' of the National Research Foundation of Korea six times a year.
The Korea Trade Association's National Conference for Trade Scholars and the Summer International Academic Conference will be held at BEXCO in Busan from June 27 to 28.
