Chungnam Office of Education Reports 8.7 to 1 Competition Rate for Civil Service Exam

Competition Rate Rises from 6.9:1 to 8.7:1

The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced on April 23 that, as a result of accepting applications for the 2025 local civil servant recruitment exam from April 14 to 18, a total of 1,488 people applied for 171 positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 8.7 to 1.

By job category, the competition rates were as follows: Education Administration Region 1 (Grade 9) at 14.3 to 1, Education Administration Region 2 (Grade 9) at 6.7 to 1, Education Administration (Persons with Disabilities, Grade 9) at 1.1 to 1, Education Administration (Low-Income, Grade 9) at 6.5 to 1, IT (Grade 9) at 11.5 to 1, Librarian (Grade 9) at 7.0 to 1, and Industrial (General Machinery, Grade 9) at 2 to 1.

By gender, there were 552 male applicants (37.1%) and 936 female applicants (62.9%). By age group, 771 applicants (51.8%) were aged 21 to 30, 363 (24.4%) were aged 31 to 40, 244 (16.4%) were aged 41 to 50, and 78 (5.2%) were aged 51 or older.

The written exam will be held on Saturday, June 21, and the test locations will be announced on the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education website on May 26.

Meanwhile, Education Administration Region 1 includes Cheonan, Gongju, Asan, Nonsan, Gyeryong, and Geumsan, while Education Administration Region 2 includes Boryeong, Seosan, Dangjin, Buyeo, Seocheon, Cheongyang, Hongseong, Yesan, and Taean.
