The gender violence prevention education instructor group was planned and implemented as part of the 2025 Women-Friendly City Development Project, under the slogan "A Safe Paju Where Women's Participation, Work, and Care Coexist."
Paju City openly recruited members for the gender violence prevention education instructor group through the city hall website in January. For the 53 applicants, the city conducted a 50-hour capacity-building program from February 24 for one month, covering topics such as improving gender sensitivity, changes in gender-based violence, understanding digital sex crimes and youth sexual exploitation, and practical lecture strategies and responses. After evaluating lecture demonstrations, 34 individuals were selected.
With the appointment of this instructor group, whose qualifications have been verified through participation in and evaluation of the capacity-building program, the city plans to provide tailored education for middle and high school students, reflecting the characteristics of each target group.
Recently, there has been a growing sense of urgency regarding digital sex crimes and gender violence, which are spreading indiscriminately among children and adolescents. As a result, the need for related countermeasures is increasing. Expectations are particularly high for the gender violence prevention education instructor group, which has been directly evaluated and selected by the city.
Kim Kyungil, Mayor of Paju City, stated, "The role of the instructor group is of utmost importance in helping our children establish an awareness of gender equality and form healthy, violence-free relationships. I encourage you to fully demonstrate your capabilities."
