The Damyang-gun Cultural Foundation (Chairman: Jung Chulwon, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on April 23 that it has been selected for the "Art Travel Program" grant project organized by the Arts Management Support Center. Starting in May, the Foundation will launch participatory art travel content that combines the expansion of art appreciation audiences with local cultural experiences.

This program is designed to provide new art audiences with approachable and enjoyable art experiences, while offering existing audiences content with greater expertise and artistic depth.

Visitors can engage with a variety of artists and view exhibitions at venues such as Haedong Culture and Arts Village and Dambit Art Warehouse, both of which host contemporary art exhibitions, as well as Boimschen Craft Art Museum, which highlights the region’s unique characteristics. The program also proposes an art travel course connecting local attractions, including Damidam Art District?a multi-cultural art street?and Gwanbangjerim, an area renowned for its natural scenery.

In addition, the Foundation will offer side events such as craft experience programs in collaboration with local craft artists, the only bamboo pipe organ performance in Korea, and artist talks related to special exhibitions. These activities aim to broaden opportunities for participation in the arts and foster a sense of cultural pride in the region.

A Foundation representative stated, "This art travel program is a participatory cultural project designed to go beyond simply viewing art, allowing people to experience and enjoy art in their daily lives. By attracting visitors to the region through culture and the arts, we expect positive effects such as revitalizing the local commercial district and increasing the residential population."
