Pyeongtaek City to Provide Subsidies for 1,786 Electric Vehicles

Applications accepted until June 30

Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province announced on April 23 that it will provide a total of 13.9 billion KRW in subsidies for 1,786 electric passenger and cargo vehicles this year.

Those eligible for support include: individuals aged 18 or older who have been continuously registered as residents of Pyeongtaek City for at least one month as of the application date; sole proprietors whose resident registration address is in Pyeongtaek City; and corporations or businesses with offices located in Pyeongtaek City.


To receive the subsidy, applicants must sign a purchase contract through a car dealership, after which the dealership applies via the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle website.


Additional benefits are also provided for certain groups. For electric passenger vehicles, individuals aged 19 to 34 purchasing their first car in their lifetime will receive an additional 20% of the national subsidy. Households raising two or more children under the age of 18 will receive an additional subsidy of 1 million to 3 million KRW. For electric cargo vehicles, small business owners will receive an additional 30% of the national subsidy, and farmers will receive an additional 10% of the national subsidy.


The application period for the first half of the year runs until June 30, but may close early if the budget is exhausted. For more details, refer to the announcement on the Pyeongtaek City website or the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle website.
