Yoo Sangbum, the campaign’s Chief of General Affairs, stated, "A total of 48 incumbent lawmakers and 54 non-parliamentary figures have joined the campaign committee," adding, "The most notable feature is the balanced placement of field politicians and experts."
Regarding lawmaker Lee Cheolgyu, who joined the campaign, Yoo explained, "Although he was not included in the first round of appointments, he expressed his support for Hong from the beginning and has been active in the campaign," and added, "He is expected to serve as the general chairman overseeing both policy and political affairs."
There are also plans to reach out to other candidates who were eliminated in the first preliminary round (cut-off), including lawmaker Na Kyungwon. Yoo said, "Hong himself will directly contact Na and other eliminated candidates," and added, "We also intend to recruit lawmakers Kim Giheon and Joo Hoeyoung." The plan is to bring in these two senior lawmakers from the Yeongnam region and nominate them as the overall campaign committee chairs, a position that is currently vacant.
Yoo emphasized, "We have named the campaign the '51 Camp' to express our determination to secure more than 51% of the votes in the final four and advance directly to the main election, and we have brought together 777 talented individuals." He added, "We have recruited a large number of experts in innovation fields, as well as incumbent lawmakers and non-parliamentary party chapter heads, placing particular emphasis on discovering future growth engines."
