Voluntary Participation of Yeongju City Officials
Demonstrating Warm Solidarity
On April 23, Yeongju City delivered 13.26 million won in relief funds to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support the recovery efforts in five cities and counties (Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok) that suffered significant damage from the recent large-scale forest fires in the Gyeongbuk region.

This donation was raised through the voluntary participation of public officials from Yeongju City Hall. It will be used to support recovery efforts and provide aid to victims in the affected areas through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea. The city hopes that this donation will offer practical assistance and deliver comfort and hope to those who have been displaced.
Lee Jaehoon, acting mayor of Yeongju City, stated, "I hope the heartfelt contributions of our staff will bring comfort and courage to the victims," adding, "We will unite our hearts to support the affected residents so they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Including this latest donation, Yeongju City, together with local organizations, institutions, businesses, and citizens, has delivered a total of 147 donations amounting to approximately 156 million won to the affected areas through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.
