On April 23, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the "103rd Children's Day Festival" at Byeolbit Square in Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, on May 5.
The festival, themed "Children Growing Dreams, Ansan Dreaming of Hope," will feature a variety of hands-on experiences, performances, and play programs designed for the whole family to enjoy together. The pre-event will include a stage performance by the Heart Art Choir, which consists of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Following this, the program will include ▲awards for exemplary children and contributors to child welfare ▲a youth dance team performance ▲a jump rope performance ▲a bubble balloon magic show ▲traditional game experiences ▲a talent show ▲a random play dance competition, and will conclude with a plogging campaign involving citizens. The venue will also feature ▲experience booths ▲a play zone ▲a photo zone ▲and a picnic zone.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "This year's festival has been planned as a family-centered event so that everyone, from children to adults, can enjoy it together," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure the festival is held safely."
The city announced that, in case of rain on the day of the event, the festival will be held at the Olympic Memorial Hall Gymnasium on the same schedule instead of Byeolbit Square.
