The M6659 metropolitan express bus route, connecting Geomdan in Seo-gu, Incheon and Yeouido in Seoul, was launched on April 23.
This bus operates along the route from Geomdan Elementary School to Dangsan Station and Yeouido Integrated Transfer Center. Four vehicles will be deployed this month, with the total increasing to seven starting next month.
By May, the plan is to increase the number of vehicles in operation to seven.
In addition, the M6660 route, which will connect Geomdan and Guro Digital Complex Station, is scheduled to open in the first half of this year. With the addition of the M6659 and M6660 routes to the five metropolitan bus routes already in operation, a total of seven metropolitan bus routes will serve Geomdan.
The city expects that the additional metropolitan bus routes will significantly improve transportation convenience for residents commuting from Geomdan to Seoul.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We will continue to guarantee mobility rights for metropolitan bus users and strive to enhance transportation benefits in connection with the extension of Incheon Subway Line 1 to Geomdan."
