Located Near Exit 2 of Namseong Station on Line 7
Equipped with CCTV, Emergency Bells, and Storage Lockers
On April 23, Dongjak District in Seoul (Mayor Park Ilha) announced that it is operating the city's first "Used Goods Smart Shelter," where residents can safely and conveniently exchange secondhand items.
Park Ilha, mayor of Dongjak District, visited the 'Dongjak Used Goods Smart Shelter' on the 11th and talked with residents. Provided by Dongjak District.
The district remodeled the "Dongjak e-Lounge," which was located near Exit 2 of Namseong Station on Line 7, to create the used goods shelter. The existing facility, which had seen decreased usage by residents, was transformed into a "community-oriented communication space" that not only provides a place for relaxation and meetings but also enables the handover of secondhand goods.
The shelter features transparent windows on three sides to create an open atmosphere, and the interior is brightly lit to ensure safety even at night. It is also equipped with a heating and cooling system. Closed-circuit TVs (CCTV) connected to an integrated control center and emergency safety bells have been installed to minimize potential risks during transactions and to provide a system that allows residents to use the facility with peace of mind.
The shelter operates daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Contactless transactions are also possible through storage lockers located inside the facility. The district expects that this shelter will not only promote the exchange of used goods but also enhance residents' convenience in daily life and serve as a local community facility.
Mayor Park Ilha stated, "Dongjak District is the first in Seoul to create a dedicated space for residents' safe secondhand transactions and relaxation. I hope many residents will use this facility with confidence and convenience, and we will continue to expand various facilities to address inconveniences in daily life."
