GC Green Cross has secured the largest-ever contract for influenza vaccine supply in the Thai market.
On April 23, GC Green Cross announced that its influenza vaccine, GCFLU, is scheduled to supply a total of 5.94 million doses-including both government tenders and the private sector-to Thailand's state-owned pharmaceutical company GPO (Government Pharmaceutical Organization) and the Department of Disease Control (DDC), as well as the private market.
Due to its geographical location spanning both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres, Thailand is subject to all World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for influenza vaccination. As a result, it is considered a market that requires year-round, continuous influenza vaccine supply. In this latest tender, GC Green Cross achieved a significant milestone by winning both the Southern and Northern Hemisphere tenders from GPO, as well as Thailand's national government tender, which includes the Department of Disease Control.
Since its initial entry into the Thai influenza vaccine market in 2014, GC Green Cross has expanded its export volume every year. With this latest contract for 5.94 million doses, the company is expected to surpass a cumulative total of 15 million doses supplied. The volume supplied to the Thai private market also increased by 112% compared to the previous year.
GCFLU, which is exported to 63 countries worldwide including Thailand, continues to expand both its export destinations and volumes each year, establishing itself as a leading influenza vaccine in the global market. GC Green Cross is the largest supplier of influenza vaccines to international organizations under the WHO, with cumulative production exceeding 300 million doses.
Lee Woojin, Head of Global Business at GC Green Cross, stated, "Thanks to proactive administrative support such as export assistance and expedited national lot release schedules from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, overseas export contracts are being actively concluded. We will do our utmost to promote the excellence of GCFLU, leveraging its proven track record in international procurement markets over many years."
