Gomchwi Makgeolli Tasting and Glass Set Giveaway Event Starting on the 25th
This Year's "Youth Yanggu Gomchwi Festival" to Be Held for Four Days Starting May 3
Yanggu County in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Seo Heungwon) announced on April 23 that the Yanggu Cultural Foundation will operate a pop-up store at Hyundai Department Store Cheonho Branch from April 25 to May 1 to promote the "2025 Youth Yanggu Gomchwi Festival."
This pop-up store is designed to promote the "2025 Youth Yanggu Gomchwi Festival," which will be held from May 3 to 6 at the Yanggu Leports Park area. It aims to encourage visitors to experience the festival in advance and visit the festival venue to purchase Yanggu Gomchwi.
The pop-up store will feature several sections: a Gomchwi Makgeolli tasting area styled as a traditional tavern, a promotional space for the festival with its mascot "Gomi," a sales area for Gomchwi Makgeolli, and an event space for lucky draw giveaways and Lucky Gomchwi Clover gifts.
Visitors to the site will receive information on discounts for Gomchwi Makgeolli, and customers who purchase more than 30,000 won worth of Makgeolli will receive a set of glasses on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, a lucky draw event will offer a variety of lucky goods, such as the "Lucky Gomchwi Keyring," "Lucky Gomchwi Fortune Card," and "Gomchwi Heart Fan."
Meanwhile, the "2025 Youth Yanggu Gomchwi Festival" will be held from May 3 to 6 at the Yanggu Leports Park area. Under the slogan "Lucky Gomchwi Project," the festival will feature a Lucky Play Zone, a Kids Adventure Zone, and a Healing Zone. Various stage performances, a music fireworks show, Gomchwi food experiences, and special Children's Day performances are also scheduled, offering a diverse program.
Ryu Jinseong, head of the Festival and Performance Team at the Yanggu Cultural Foundation, said, "This pop-up store is a great opportunity to introduce Yanggu’s signature Gomchwi Festival to residents of the metropolitan area. We hope many people will visit the festival venue to experience the unique charm of Yanggu and help revitalize the local economy."
