Kim Moonsoo Advances to Second Primary: "We Must Unite to Protect Constitutional Order"

"We Will Carry Forward Their Dedication and Policies for the Nation and the People"

Former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moonsoo stated on April 22, "Now is the time for everyone to unite and pool our strength to protect the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea. Our path will not stop," expressing his thoughts on advancing to the second round of the primary.

Immediately after the results of the first People Power Party primary cutoff were announced on April 22, Kim wrote on Facebook, "I sincerely thank the people for choosing me as one of the four candidates to advance to the presidential primary semifinals," sharing his gratitude.

He also congratulated Representative Ahn Cheolsoo, former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon, and former Daegu Mayor Hong Joonpyo, who also passed the first cutoff, saying, "I sincerely congratulate you on advancing to the semifinals."

Kim also offered words of comfort to Representative Na Kyungwon, former lawmaker Yang Hyangja, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok, and North Gyeongsang Province Governor Lee Cheolwoo, who were eliminated in this primary.

He said, "I will cherish and carry forward the dedication to the nation and the people, as well as the excellent policies shown by these four candidates," adding, "We are People Power Party candidates who share a common sense of mission to defend the values of a free Republic of Korea and a market economy."

He further emphasized, "Let us move forward together," and added, "Forward to a new future! A great Republic of Korea!"

Kim has emerged as a leading presidential contender in the broader conservative bloc by opposing the impeachment of former President Yoon Sukyeol and confronting the Democratic Party of Korea during the impeachment proceedings.

Recently, he has pledged youth policies such as expanding half-price rental zones for university students, increasing the supply of single-person housing, and offering free bus rides outside of commuting hours for those aged 65 and older.
