A is accused of ramming his car into the Jeongok Police Substation building in Yeoncheon County at around 3:30 p.m. on April 21. The car came to a stop after hitting a pillar at the main entrance of the substation. Although police officers were present near the entrance, they managed to avoid the oncoming vehicle, and fortunately, there were no casualties.

A, who was heavily intoxicated at the time, stated, "In the past, the police forcibly admitted me to a psychiatric hospital. While drinking, I suddenly recalled the unfairness of that incident and, in a fit of anger, committed the crime."

A is known to live alone without family and has been sustaining himself on government subsidies provided to vulnerable groups.

The police have impounded A's vehicle and, in coordination with the prosecution, will decide on further action regarding his custody.
