Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance became the first insurance company in Korea to hold an innovation product 'Unpacked Conference,' raising the key issue of restoring trust within the insurance industry.

On April 22, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance hosted the Unpacked Conference titled "Protect Today, Dream of Tomorrow" at Samsung Financial Campus in Seocho-gu, Seoul.


Lee Moonhwa, President and CEO of Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, emphasized, "Insurance companies must contribute to solving future social issues," and stated that the industry should move forward in three directions: realizing customer-centric values, contributing to social problem-solving, and establishing responsible management.


The event was attended by Kwon Daeyoung, Secretary General of the Financial Services Commission, Kim Seungwon, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party (member of the Political Affairs Committee), as well as representatives from the General Insurance Association of Korea, Korea Insurance Development Institute, Korea Insurance Research Institute, academia, reinsurers, analysts, and heads of corporate insurance agencies (GAs), with a total of about 150 participants.


The event began with congratulatory remarks from Representative Kim and Secretary General Kwon. In the opening session, President Lee presented Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's innovation direction.


During the Unpacking Session, Kwon Kisoon, Head of the Long-term Product Development Team (Executive Director) at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, introduced the purpose and main concept of the new product "Protection Account," which is scheduled for launch next month.


Executive Director Kwon stated, "We aimed to go beyond a market focused on one-off issues and provide customers with a new experience," and added, "We have developed insurance products that are easy for customers to choose and understand, and that offer strong protection and health management."


The Talk Concert session featured author Cho Seungyeon, Mickey Kim, CEO of Actto Ventures, and Ko Giho, Vice President of the Long-term Insurance Division at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. They shared a variety of perspectives on industry innovation and future direction under the theme "Warm Insurance, Trusted Company."


Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, as an industry leader, presented a vision for the entire sector. The company emphasized that all insurers must strengthen their core business competitiveness in order to gain consumer trust.


A representative from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance explained, "The insurance industry is facing new challenges for restoring trust and driving innovation," and added, "We held this event to focus on the essence of insurance and seek a path toward innovation."
