Applications Accepted on a First-Come, First-Served Basis Until April 25
Gwangju Bukgu District is launching an 'On-site Self-Defense Training' program for residents who are vulnerable to crime, such as women, children, and adolescents.
On April 22, Bukgu District announced that it is accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis until April 25 for participants in the 'Crisis Escape Safe Self-Defense Workshop,' which aims to help residents acquire practical self-defense skills to protect themselves from the increasing number of crimes.
This training is organized in collaboration with a professional self-defense institution and the Bukbu Police Station, and consists of crime prevention theory, psychological coping strategies, and hands-on self-defense practice. The program will be held a total of 10 times and will be conducted in a small group, participation-focused format.
The training is free of charge and is open not only to institutions such as local children's centers, schools, and welfare centers, but also to any resident of Bukgu District. Applications should be submitted to the Women's and Childcare Division of the Bukgu District Office.
District Mayor Moon In stated, "This is an opportunity to develop practical skills to respond immediately in the event of a crime," and added, "We will expand safety policies so that residents can live with peace of mind."
