Raonsecure, an IT security and authentication platform company led by CEOs Soonhyung Lee and Jeong Ah Lee, announced that it received the Presidential Citation for Meritorious Service in Information and Communications at the "2025 Science and Technology and Information and Communications Day Ceremony" held on the 21st.

Raonsecure was honored with this award in recognition of its contributions to the advancement of the security and authentication industry, including the establishment of a blockchain-based national mobile ID system and innovations in identity authentication through FIDO biometric authentication.

The company has built a variety of mobile ID issuance systems, including the nation’s first legally recognized digital ID, the "Mobile Driver’s License," as well as the "Mobile National Veterans Registration Card," the "Mobile Overseas Korean Identification Card," and the "Mobile Public Official ID."

Since March of this year, Raonsecure has also applied its proprietary blockchain-based technology to the "Mobile Resident Registration Card" issuance system, which is being issued to 45 million citizens, thereby accelerating the digital transformation of identity and qualification verification.

In addition, Raonsecure is expanding its digital identity authentication services into the private sector, such as the launch of the ISIC International Student Card and the digital ID system at Kwangwoon University. The company is also broadening its scope in the digital credentialing field by launching services including the issuance of admission and degree certificates at Chung-Ang University, the opening of a dedicated digital badge website for Konkuk University, issuance of medical professional IDs, and university identity and certificate issuance projects.

Internationally, Raonsecure is accelerating its entry into the global digital ID market by carrying out projects such as integrated digital ID design consulting in Indonesia (2023), the integrated digital ID service project in Indonesia (2024), and the development of a public digital wallet in Costa Rica. The company is currently in discussions for cooperation with various countries in Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

Notably, Raonsecure is leading the global expansion of the "Korean-style Mobile ID (K-DID)" model and the international standardization of digital IDs by releasing its blockchain-based integrated identity and credential authentication platform, "OmniOne Digital ID," as open source.

Raonsecure is also at the forefront of emerging security fields such as post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and generative AI security, thereby contributing to strengthening national competitiveness. In the field of PQC, the company applied PQC to its electronic signature and section encryption solutions "Key#Biz" and "Key#Wireless" last year and is gradually expanding its application to other proprietary solutions and services. Recently, the "Quantum-Resistant Cryptography Transition Project for Standard Medical Data Relay Platform," led by the Raonsecure consortium, was selected for the medical sector of the "2025 Quantum-Resistant Cryptography Pilot Transition Support Project" by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). Additionally, Raonsecure has applied generative AI-based deepfake detection technology to its mobile antivirus app "Raon Mobile Security" and is currently developing deep voice and real-time detection technologies.

Jeong Ah Lee, CEO of Raonsecure, stated, "We are deeply honored that Raonsecure’s efforts to innovate security and authentication systems through the establishment of a blockchain-based national mobile ID and FIDO biometric authentication technology have been recognized," and added, "We will continue to contribute to the advancement of Korea’s information security industry and the strengthening of national competitiveness by developing world-class security technologies and expanding digital identity authentication services."

Meanwhile, the Government Award for Meritorious Service in Information and Communications is presented by the government to individuals and organizations in recognition of their contributions to the development of the information, broadcasting, and communications industries.
