Danal Entertainment (hereafter Danal Entertainment) announced on April 22 that it has signed a strategic business agreement with marketing solutions company Pepper and Salt (CEO Jiho Choi) for collaboration on content IP-based business.
This agreement was pursued to jointly establish various business models such as the production of goods based on diverse content IPs and offline pop-up stores, leveraging both companies' capabilities in content sourcing, commercialization, and distribution.
Under the agreement, Danal Entertainment will take the lead in securing and providing high-quality content IPs and overseeing overall strategy, driving the joint business initiative. Pepper and Salt will be responsible for the entire commercialization process, including product analysis, design, planning, production, distribution, and both online and offline promotions, all based on content IPs.
Previously, Danal Entertainment achieved sell-out results for related products by hosting pop-up stores for renowned artists such as SHINee's Key and musical actor Kim Junsu. Pepper and Salt has successfully carried out pop-up store projects based on popular YouTubers and character IPs such as Jamdeul TV and Draw Andrew, and also has experience collaborating with domestic telecom companies and beauty brands.
Neungho Hyun, CEO of Danal Entertainment, stated, "We plan to secure diversity in content and gradually expand the scope of content IP utilization and its business value. Together with partners who possess expertise and execution capabilities, we will maximize the added value of IPs and continuously expand marketable business models."
Meanwhile, according to the "2024 Content IP Transaction Status Survey" released by the Korea Creative Content Agency in February, the content IP industry is valued at approximately 33.2 trillion won, with the economic ripple effect from content IPs estimated at around 8.5 trillion won.
