On April 22, the Korea Organ Donation Agency announced that on March 24, Jung Daesoon, age 73, donated his liver and both kidneys to three individuals at Kyungpook National University Hospital and passed away peacefully.
Jung suffered a fall on March 13 while repairing the roof of the village hall. He was rushed to the hospital but ultimately never regained consciousness.
According to the agency, Jung's children decided to honor his wishes for organ donation, as he had often said, "If I can help someone at the end of my life, I want to share what I have."
According to his family, Jung was known for his bright and cheerful personality and enjoyed spending time with others. He began helping at orchards and poultry farms from the age of 14. He led a diligent life, starting each day as early as 4 a.m.
Jung's son and daughter said, "Our father's diligence in leading the family was a great lesson to us," and added, "We hope our beloved father can now rest in peace."
