The proposed development policy pledges consist of projects aimed at driving the growth potential of Wonju City and Gangwon Province and revitalizing the local economy.

The main projects proposed by Wonju City include: ▲ Establishment of the Wonju Digital Healthcare Advanced Medical Complex ▲ Expansion of the semiconductor mega cluster in the Wonju area ▲ Early opening of the Metropolitan Express Railway (GTX-D) connection to Wonju ▲ Construction of the Wonju National Road Alternative Bypass (Heungeop-Socho) ▲ Upgrade of Wonju Airport to international airport status ▲ Relaxation of metropolitan city requirements for balanced regional development ▲ Early development of idle military sites (Bangok and Hakseong districts) ▲ Exemption of usage fees for public interest use of idle military sites ▲ Development of the relocated Wonju Prison site ▲ Establishment of Gangwon Institute of Science and Technology (GWIST) ▲ Relocation and redistribution of public institutions in the existing innovation city as part of the second phase of public institution relocation.

Wonju City plans to actively ensure that these key projects?such as the establishment of the Wonju Digital Healthcare Advanced Medical Complex and the expansion of the semiconductor mega cluster in the Wonju area?are reflected in presidential election pledges, as they have been identified as major initiatives that can serve as a practical turning point for regional development and promote balanced growth and mutual prosperity in Gangwon Province.

A Wonju City official stated, "This proposal is a strategic approach to leverage the presidential election as an opportunity to set the national agenda and achieve tangible results for both Wonju City and Gangwon Province," adding, "We will work closely with relevant agencies to ensure that these initiatives are included in the election pledges."
