MCST Offers Various Benefits to Companies and Organizations Supporting Work-Leisure Balance

Applications for the 2025 Leisure-Friendly Certification Accepted Until May 30

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Regional Culture Promotion Agency, will accept applications for the "2025 Leisure-Friendly Certification" from April 23 to May 30. This certification targets companies and organizations that support employees in achieving a balance between work and leisure.

The Leisure-Friendly Certification System is based on Article 16 of the Framework Act on the Promotion of National Leisure and certifies exemplary companies and organizations that support employees in harmoniously balancing work and leisure. The system was first introduced in 2012, and as of last year, a total of 607 companies and organizations have been certified.

Leisure-friendly certified companies and organizations can enjoy various benefits during the three-year validity period of the certification. These include: ▲ promotion of leisure-related systems and support for cultural and leisure activities; ▲ priority support when applying for government-supported programs such as the "Artist Dispatch Support Program" and the "Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company Program"; and ▲ additional points when applying for other government certifications such as the "Excellent Workplace for Reading Management Certification" and the "Health-Friendly Company Certification." In addition, ten outstanding companies and organizations will receive awards such as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and the Regional Culture Promotion Agency Director's Award.

Detailed information about the certification application can be found on the websites of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Leisure-Friendly Support portal. An online business briefing session will also be held for interested companies and organizations at 2:00 p.m. on April 30. In addition, in May, two online group consulting sessions will be provided, offering guidance on preparing submission documents for each evaluation indicator and on leisure-friendly management strategies.

The final selection results will be announced in October after document screening and interviews. The certification ceremony is scheduled to take place in November.

A policy official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, "The Leisure-Friendly Certification System contributes to enhancing the image of companies and organizations and expanding opportunities to recruit outstanding talent by spreading exemplary cases of 'people-centered management.' We hope that companies and organizations will actively participate in creating a healthy workplace culture by fostering a work environment where leisure and work are harmoniously balanced."
