Photo Essay and Couple T-Shirts Among Featured Merchandise
On April 20, publishing house Haengbokwoomul announced that it will launch a crowdfunding campaign for the release of the photo essay based on the drama "Love in the Big City" starting April 21.
According to Haengbokwoomul, a pre-funding campaign will be held on the crowdfunding platform Wadiz, followed by the main funding campaign from May 9 to May 30. In addition, a separate international crowdfunding campaign for overseas fans will be conducted during May. The photo essay and related merchandise will be offered as part of the campaign.
The drama "Love in the Big City" is based on the novel of the same name by author Park Sangyoung and delicately portrays the everyday lives, love, and solidarity of queer youth. The cast includes Nam Yoonsu, Jin Ho-eun, Oh Hyunkyung, and Lee Soogyung. Upon its broadcast in 2024, it was ranked fourth in Cine21's Top 10 Series and third in Time magazine's list of representative K-dramas of 2024. Most recently, it was the only drama selected as a screening entry at the Marie Claire Film Festival 2025.
The photo essay features iconic scenes, memorable lines, and key still cuts from the drama, and also includes a critical review of the series by literary critic Park Sungjoon. Merchandise items include the couple T-shirts worn by Nam Yoonsu and Jin Ho-eun, the "Insaengnaekut" photo booth pictures featured in the drama, keyrings, and photocards.
Choi Yeon, CEO of Haengbokwoomul Publishing, stated, "We focused on emotional collectible value that goes beyond a simple archive, so that fans can cherish the lingering emotions the drama has provided for a long time," adding, "We are also preparing a variety of rewards that will allow us to engage with fans."
