The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Jong-chul, Head of Customer Service at the Korea Racing Authority, Kim Jin-hong, Mayor of Donggu District, Busan, and Park Hee-tae, Head of the Donggu Branch, Busan. Through this agreement, the Korea Racing Authority will provide a sponsorship fund of 20 million KRW to Donggu District. Donggu District will use the funds from the Korea Racing Authority to operate the "Hope Sharing Store," thereby contributing to strengthening the local community’s welfare safety net.
The "Hope Sharing Store" is a branded, resident-tailored welfare project unique to Donggu District, established and operated in all 12 neighborhoods of Donggu in 2024 to identify households in crisis and expand the culture of sharing. The beneficiaries include households in crisis, such as those recommended by welfare account managers, those whose emergency support has been suspended, and those who have been excluded from welfare services. They receive coupons that allow them to directly select and exchange necessary groceries or daily necessities at the "Hope Sharing Store," which operates in a store format.
Through this sponsorship, the Korea Racing Authority aims to contribute to improving community welfare and fulfill its social responsibilities as a public enterprise. Additionally, Donggu District, Busan, will be able to operate the "Hope Sharing Store" project more stably and effectively.
Kim Jong-chul, Head of Customer Service at the Korea Racing Authority, who attended the event on behalf of the Authority, stated, "We are proud that the Korea Racing Authority can participate in a sharing initiative that provides practical help to low-income residents in the region. We will continue to pursue social contribution activities that promote coexistence with the local community."
Kim Jin-hong, Mayor of Donggu District, Busan, expressed gratitude for the support from the Korea Racing Authority, saying, "This agreement is a meaningful beginning that goes beyond simple financial support, as it marks the start of building a welfare community together with the local community. The public and private sectors will work together to do their utmost to address welfare blind spots."
