"Always Fond of Children"

A two-year-old child who went missing in Arizona, United States, was found after 16 hours. The child walked 11 kilometers through a dangerous area frequently visited by wild animals but was safely rescued without any injuries.

According to U.S. media outlets such as NBC and Fox 10 on April 20, a two-year-old boy named Boden went missing in Arizona on April 14. Boden disappeared while his mother was changing his younger sibling's diaper.

Authorities immediately deployed more than 40 rescue personnel and used helicopters to search the surrounding area. After 16 hours of searching, a report was received that the child had been found at a nearby ranch.

Boden was found about 11.2 kilometers from his home. The route from his house to the ranch is considered dangerous, as lions, cougars, and even bears are often spotted in the area. In fact, a search helicopter spotted two cougars along the path the child had taken.

The one who found and protected the child was the ranch owner's dog, Buford. Buford is known to be a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix. Both breeds are large dogs widely used as guard and herding dogs. Buford regularly patrols the ranch and chases away wild animals such as coyotes.

The ranch owner, Scotty Dunton, stated that Buford has always liked children and baby animals, and would often look after young calves and lambs.

Dunton said, "Around 8 a.m., I was driving out to the road when I saw Buford sitting at the ranch entrance, and next to him was a child I didn't recognize, wearing pajama pants and a sleeveless shirt." He recalled, "When we first found him, the child drank about 3.7 liters of water."

He added, "This route consists of mountains, canyons, and rocky paths, making it difficult even for adults, so it's almost a miracle that a two-year-old made it through. I couldn't believe the child had walked such a long distance."

Afterward, Boden was reunited with his family with the help of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Other than some minor scratches, he was reported to be in good health and recovered quickly after resting.
