Daytime Highs to Reach 15 to 27 Degrees Celsius
On April 20, which marks Gogu, the day of spring rain that enriches the crops, rain is expected to fall in many parts of the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on April 19, rain is forecast until dawn in the southern part of Chungcheong, the Jeolla region, and Jeju Island; until the morning in the Gyeongsang region (excluding the western and central inland areas of South Gyeongsang); and until the afternoon in the western and central inland areas of South Gyeongsang. The expected rainfall over the two days starting from this date is as follows: 5 to 30 mm in Jeju Island; 5 to 20 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, and North Chungcheong; 5 to 10 mm in Gwangju, South Jeolla, North Jeolla, Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, North Gyeongsang (excluding the central and southern inland and the east coast), Ulleungdo, and Dokdo; and less than 5 mm in Daegu, the central and southern inland areas of North Gyeongsang, and the east coast of North Gyeongsang.
Morning lows are forecast to range from 7 to 16 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs are expected to reach 15 to 27 degrees Celsius.
Strong winds are expected in most parts of the country. Some areas may experience gusts exceeding 55 km/h (15 m/s), so the Korea Meteorological Administration advised extra caution in managing facilities and ensuring safety.
Fine dust levels are expected to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Wave heights are forecast to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the offshore areas (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
