Buried Object Inscribed with "Corrupt National Election Commission" and Red Cloth
The police have launched an investigation into five foreigners who buried objects inscribed with "Corrupt National Election Commission" in the flower bed at the Gwanak office of the National Election Commission.
The Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on April 19 that it had booked five foreigners?one man and four women?on charges including violation of the Act on Punishment of Violent Acts (joint trespassing).
According to reports, at around 7:15 a.m. on April 15, these individuals buried a white plastic object bearing the words "Corrupt National Election Commission" and a red cloth with the English word "Victory" written on it, symbolizing victory, in the flower bed at the Gwanak office of the commission. The Gwanak office of the National Election Commission is a site where martial law troops were deployed during the 12·3 Martial Law.
It has been reported that by the time the police received the report, the five foreigners had already left the country. The police plan to identify their whereabouts and proceed with procedures such as requesting their appearance.
