The Yangsan branch of the Gyeongnam Association for the Physically Disabled (President Kim Daeyeon), which organized this event, brought together five local organizations for people with disabilities under the tentative name "Federation of Disabled Persons' Organizations." Under the slogan "Looking at Happiness, Embracing Everyday Life, Continuing Hope," the federation, together with the Yangsan Welfare Center for the Disabled, held the commemorative ceremony.

Approximately 1,000 people, including local residents with disabilities and related officials, attended the event. The program included awards and plaques of appreciation for distinguished individuals with disabilities and those who have contributed to the promotion of welfare and volunteer activities for people with disabilities. In addition, a variety of performances and recreational sports competitions were held to encourage participation and unity among people with disabilities.

This year, in particular, featured a charming sign language and singing performance by children from Yangsan Forest Kindergarten, as well as a dance sport performance by a wheelchair user. Through the children's small gestures and songs, and the dynamic artistic expression of the wheelchair user, the event provided an opportunity to reflect once again on the value of a society where people with and without disabilities live together.

Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that all members of our society are guaranteed equal opportunities and to build an inclusive society, together with the proud individuals with disabilities who demonstrate that disability does not mean a difference in opportunity." He also expressed his gratitude to the related workers, families, and volunteers who are dedicated to improving the welfare of people with disabilities in the region.
