Collaboration with Six Local Universities to Foster Talent and Drive Regional Innovation

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is establishing a collaborative system with six local universities to foster regional talent and promote industrial development. On April 18, Hwaseong City signed a business agreement with six universities in the city at the Central Conference Room of City Hall for the successful implementation of the 'Gyeonggi-do RISE Project'.

The RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) project aims to strengthen the autonomy and accountability of local universities, nurture talent suited to the region's characteristics, and thereby advance local industries and achieve balanced regional growth.


The universities participating in this agreement are Suwon University, Suwon Science College, Suwon Women's University, Jangan University, Hyeopseong University, and Hwaseong University of Science. The city and the participating universities plan to continue collaborating to achieve the core objectives of the RISE project: nurturing local talent, supporting employment and entrepreneurship, and building an innovative ecosystem based on local settlement.


Hwaseong Mayor Myunggeun Jung stated, "Through this agreement, the city and local universities will grow together and achieve our shared goal of developing the local community." He added, "I hope this will serve as an opportunity for the region and universities to combine their strengths and create a brighter future for our community."
