Gwangjin District (Mayor Kim Kyungho) will operate programs utilizing national heritage at Achasan Mountain starting in April.

Achasan Mountain was an important strategic point during the Three Kingdoms period, often witnessing clashes among Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla, and thus holds significant historical value. The area features the Achasanseong Fortress, which is designated as a historic site, and a group of fortresses in the Achasan area. These sites, along with relics excavated from the period, provide valuable resources for learning about history and culture firsthand.

At the group of fortresses in the Achasan area, the "Achasan Meoseon129" program offers participants an opportunity to experience archaeology. The program consists mainly of hands-on activities, including ▲archaeologist job experience ▲the Ultimate Relic Contest ▲Achasan Cinema ▲tours and interviews. It will be held 25 times from April to October, with around 20 participants per session.

"Protecting Our Heritage with Moeari" will take place at Achasanseong Fortress. Over 20 sessions from May to October, participants can join plogging tours, speed quizzes, and upcycling activities at Achasanseong Fortress. The cultural performance content "Moeari ON AIR" and the training program "Moeari Learning Center," which cultivates national heritage support personnel, both contribute to enhancing the value of local cultural heritage and increasing interest and engagement among students and residents.

Those who wish to participate can apply through the Seoul Metropolitan Government Public Service Reservation system. For more details, visit the Hangang Cultural Heritage Research Institute or the Gwangjin District Office website.

Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "You can experience national cultural heritage close to the city center. I believe these programs, where students can see relics and ruins firsthand and experience archaeology, will be highly beneficial for them." He added, "We will continue to utilize Achasan, one of the area's outstanding natural resources, to create a happy Gwangjin District where history, culture, and nature come together."
